Appointments can can be booked over the telephone or at the front desk at any of our 4 surgeries. When booking appointments, you will be asked to give a brief outline of the reason of the appointment. This gives the clinician an understanding of why you are calling. Our Care Navigators have permission to do this and have all signed confidentiality agreements.
If you are acutely unwell and require a same day appointment, we ask that you call the surgery between 08:30am – 10:00am. Our Care Navigators will add you to our ‘Acute Assessment Team’ list which consists of multiple Advance Nurse Practitioners and Doctors. They will then give you a call back in the morning to discuss your medical concern further. They may ask you to come into surgery for for a face to face appointment if appropriate.
If the appointments are fully booked for the morning, we will ask you to call back between 1:00pm – 3:00pm and the process will start again.
Please Note: We are not a walk in service – meaning patients cannot be expected to walk in and expect to be seen there and then. All children under the age of 12 will be added to the Acute Assessment Team list to be triaged.
If the doctor or nurse considers it appropriate, you will be offered the presence of a trained chaperone during your consultation, or you may request one. Alternatively, you my prefer to bring a friend or relative with you to your appointment.
Riverside assigns each patient a Registered GP. We believe continuity of care plays an important part of the services we deliver.
Having a registered GP does not affect your right to see any doctor of your choice, subject to appointment availability. This will not change the way you receive care from Riverside.
Please Note: Registered GPs can change from time to time when we employ new GPs and patients need to be distributed fairly. If you would like to ensure your Registered GP stays the same, please let us know.
Depending on the severity of your medical concern, appointments can be booked up to 6 weeks in advance. We also do hold regular clinics such as: Smear Tests, Steroid Injections, Women’s Health, Baby Vaccinations and much more.
We recommend you try to book all appointments with your regular GP, this supports continuity of care and will help with managing any on going problems.
Bassetlaw GP practices are working in partnership to deliver some extra GP & Nurse appointments during the evenings (6.30pm – 8pm) and at weekends. Therefore, you may be offered a call back from a different surgery to your registered one.
