1st Anniversary of the Prostate Cancer Group
On the 27th February, the Retford & Villages Prostate Cancer Support Group facilitated by Jean Kirby of R&V PCN, celebrated their 1st anniversary of the prostate cancer support group.
The Retford Freemasons gave a generous donation of £300 to help with running costs of prostate cancer support group.
Plans are a foot to support DRI’s Prostate Cancer Support Nurse Sue Hill, and the entire prostate cancer team at DRI to fund a “One Stop Prostate Shop” at Bassetlaw Hospital similar to the only other one based in the country which is based at Doncaster Royal Infirmary and is attended by approximately 50% of Retford/ Worksop/ Bassetlaw patients.
The freemasons, along with Jean Kirby, are doing incredible work in Bassetlaw District, with future plans to speak at different lodges about signs and symptoms of prostate cancer and encouraging self-checking and screen attendance.
