Carers Roadshow + Carers Week (10th – 16th June)
This year our Digital & Social Inclusion Coordinator will be in attendance at the Carers Roadshow that will be at Retford Market Square on Thursday 6th June. The Carers Roadshow is covering all of Nottinghamshire over summer with the intention of showcasing the services that are out there to help carers and patients including mental health support from organisations such as Mind and Notts Talking Therapies as well Digital & Social Inclusion Coordinators demonstrating the NHS App to people and show how time beneficial it is.
Below is a list of the Carers roadshow destinations and dates with the next one in the Bassetlaw region being at Worksop Market on Friday 16th August.
Carers Week will be running from 10th June to the 16th June with this years theme being “Put Carers on the Map”. The aim is Carers Week is an annual campaign to raise awareness of caring, highlight the challenges unpaid carers face and recognise the contribution they make to families and communities throughout the UK. It also helps people who don’t think of themselves as having caring responsibilities to identify as carers and access much-needed support.
As part of Carers Week 2024, our specialists team consisting of Jean Kirby (Cancer Care Coordinator), Dave Bacon (Social Prescriber), Caroline Cutting (Care Coordinator), Catherine Pridmore (Health & Lifestyle Improvement Care Coordinator) and Nathan Farrow (Digital & Social Inclusion Coordinator) held a stand at our Harworth site to promote our roles & services to patients and signposting to the right information/ hubs.
Our Care Navigators and Care Coordinators are working hard to provide the right information and help to patients. As there is some slight confusion between the roles, below is a poster highlighting the differences between the two.
Throughout Nottinghamshire, Carer Support Groups will be held in various locations with the one in Retford being located at The Well every last Wednesday of the month between 10am and 11.30am.
